With half term approaching, now's the perfect time to start planning ways to keep your children entertained. To help, we've put together a few ideas to make sure there's something fun for everyone!

The Bookery, on Crediton High Street, is planning an exciting crafting session on Wednesday 30th October! Stop by anytime between 10am and 4pm for fun, free craft activities for children aged 5 and up, while you explore their wonderful book selection. Create pumpkin bunting or an adorable fluffy spider or bat!

Join artist Emmylou Shine at the White Room Creative Space for a fun and informal Halloween themed fine art workshop for children aged 5-13. In the session, students will create a spooky scene featuring bats, a cat, a haunted house, and a wolf using chalk pastels and black acrylic paint. Taking place Tuesday 29th October, 10-12pm, £15.00 (includes all materials, equipment, a snack, and drink). To book, visit Aurora Shine Online

Get your costumes ready for a spooktacular time at the Baobab Cafe! Join them for free treats and plenty of Halloween fun on Saturday 26th October, from 5-8pm. Located on the square in Crediton, the Baobab Cafe is the perfect spot to kick off your half-term Halloween festivities!

Join the Paint Pots Pumpkin Trail from Monday 21st October to Monday 4th November. Explore Crediton's High Street to find beautifully painted mini pumpkins hidden in shop windows. Trail sheets are available for £1 at Paint Pots of Devon in the Creedy Centre on the High Street, with all proceeds supporting Friends of Hayward's School. Plus, you could win a £20 pottery painting voucher just for participating!

Halloween Party Alert! Paint Pots are also hosting a Halloween Party on Wednesday 30th October from 4:30-6:30pm! For just £15 per child, enjoy pottery painting, party games, squash, and a delicious buffet. Fancy dress is optional but definitely encouraged! Book your spot now by calling 07854 716032 or messaging Paint Pots on Facebook. Please note, all children must be accompanied by an adult.

Head to Crediton Library on Tuesday 29th October for Boxes of Delight and Scrolls of Wonder - two exciting events. At 2:30pm, take part in a creative workshop to make a mini Crankie, turning a small box into a moving picture scroll inspired by animal journeys. This intergenerational activity blends storytelling and art for just £2 per child/adult.
At 6:00pm, enjoy a magical performance by Sara Hurley and Wendy Dacre, featuring interactive Crankie and Kamishibai stories, songs, and the fascinating history behind these unique storytelling forms. Tickets are also £2 per person. To book either session, contact Crediton Library at 01363 772578 or email crediton.library@librariesunlimited.org.uk
